Tis the REASON for the Season!
Welcome Back to the Schoelles Family blog! It is hard to believe that it has been a whole year since our last post. I had visions of doing more than just a Christmas blog, but, like everything else, the time has completely slipped away from me and here we are December 1, 2011 already!!!
So much has happened in this past year, Olivia is now a 5th grader, her last year in elementary school, Owen, my BABY started Kindergarten, I became an Aunt again, Chris is now in charge of the whole Cardiac program at Aultman (which we are very proud of him), I am still a stay at home mom and still loving every minute of our busy life. So much, so little time.
We begin our first day of blogging with our nativity display. Owen makes sure it is plugged in every morning. I love this picture for several reasons, one; it is neat with the kids looking at the scene, but what I find even better is the fact that I make fun of this thing every year. Everyone has that one thing that they remember from their childhood that was ALWAYS out at Christmas time, but as you got older you realized just how hideous it really was. This will be the one for us, we have had to replace the lights, glue the star and the people back on several times, and I am pretty sure a piece is missing (at least it is not the baby Jesus) But none the less, when we are all done decorating the tree, that is the first thing the kids look for to put under the tree. So I hope that it will be a memory they will cherish, no matter how cheesy they will someday think it is.
I remember when I was growing up we always had this old Elf that my mom would put out and my sisters and I were always scared of it. My sisters and I (along with my mom) still to this day make fun of it and laugh hysterically about how afraid we were of it. Memories made CHECK!
And last but not least, it reminds us of the true reason for celebrating this holiday.
Kelly - Thank you for your Christmas blog. I look forward to sharing the true meaning of Christmas with you and your family.
